Amazon Warehouse got a new name and everyone's bookmarks got confused. Here's the whole story, plus how to actually find the good stuff.
Inventory is literally one-of-each — when a listing sells, it's gone. YMMV is the entire genre.
When someone returns a blender because the box was dented, Amazon can't sell it as new — so it gets inspected, graded, and listed by Amazon Resale at a discount. It's Amazon's own open-box outlet: sold by Amazon, shipped by Amazon, Prime shipping applies, and the standard return window covers you if the "Very Good" toaster turns out to be very not.
That return coverage is the quiet superpower. Buying used from a marketplace stranger is a leap of faith; buying open-box from Amazon Resale is a regular Amazon purchase with a discount attached.

Not the same thing: Amazon Renewed is a separate program for professionally refurbished products from qualified refurbishers, with its own guarantee. Resale = inspected returns sold as-is in graded condition; Renewed = refurbished to spec.
Resale listings are buried. They live behind an "other sellers" or "buy used" box on regular product pages, the discounts vary wildly for the same grade, and each item exists exactly once — so browsing for genuine deals means a lot of clicking, comparing against the new price, and losing the item to someone faster.
